Long distance endurance riders

Riding over 100,000 miles through the USA and Australia is a challenge by anyone’s imagination.

Add a litany of breakdowns, continuous delays waiting for parts, extreme weather conditions, ill health and more, the result is an incredible story of sheer determination.

Pushing Miles

Wendy and Ian visited Riders Lane last night for the Canberra launch of ‘Pushing Miles‘ – the incredible true story of a 100,000-mile motorcycle world record attempt where the only thing that didn’t break was their spirit.

Local riders gathered to hear Wendy and Ian talk about how their meticulous planning and previous Iron Butt Rally experience did little to prepare them for what became an unforgettable series of disastrous events over many months on the road.

Wendy Crockett and Ian McPhee are extraordinary people. Their Guiness Book of Record entry is a testament to the kind of determination that the ‘ordinary’ motorcycle rider might consider insane.
