You are amazing! You signed up to receive newsletters from Riders Lane and waited patiently. Thank you.
Have you been following our Facebook page? You might have missed the posts on our progress establishing Riders Lane Canberra. And we’re only a few months off opening the doors to members. This is a brief summary of the past 9 months:
September 2022
We conducted the initial market research with Canberra region’s motorcycle riders and the resounding response was ‘yes’. Yes to workshop space with tools and equipment to work on bikes. Yes to learning and to sharing knowledge within a supportive community of passionate motorcycle owners and riders. Yes to a place where your motorcycle passion is celebrated.
October 2022 to April 2023
We jumped head and heart into establishing Canberra’s first social enterprise for the region’s motorcycle owners, riders, restorers and enthusiasts. The ideas kept on coming and so did the support and encouragement from everyone we talked to. ABC Radio and the Moore Street Journal interviewed our Founder – Sonia van den Berg. The word was out and we now had the offer of a small shared workshop space in Queanbeyan. It felt like we’d lapped Eastern Creek in under a minute, but the reality was almost twelve months of full-time, focussed effort was proving fruitful.
May 2023
This month Riders Lane Canberra took a giant leap forward with support from the founder of Kustom Kommune, Melbourne – Jimmy Goode. The much needed workshop tools and equipment are now in Canberra with more to come. We are scheduled to open in our own premises in Mitchell in October and with your support Canberra’s DIY motorcycling community will thrive.
